Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)
Medication-assisted treatment pairs FDA-approved medications with regular counseling to manage cravings and reduce withdrawal symptoms. At Merritt Recovery, this combined approach helps you or your loved one stay steady in early recovery while the deeper work of therapy takes hold. Medication is one part of a fuller plan.
About Our Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)
Medication-assisted treatment combines FDA-approved medications with regular counseling to reduce cravings and steady the body during early recovery. At Merritt Recovery, this begins with a comprehensive assessment on admission, when our clinical team reviews your medical history, substance use, and any co-occurring conditions before recommending anything.
From there, you receive a treatment plan built around your specific needs, not a fixed protocol. Medication is one part of that plan, paired with counseling that addresses the reasons use started.
A dedicated case manager coordinates your care from day one, keeping medical staff, therapists, and family informed as your plan changes. That same case manager stays involved through aftercare, so the support your loved one relies on does not end abruptly when treatment does.
