What Is Treatment Like?
Your first day at Merritt Recovery begins with an intake assessment, where our clinical team maps your history and builds a treatment plan around it. From there, days settle into a rhythm:
- Individual and group therapy
- Shared meals and quiet downtime
- Scheduled family involvement
Your loved one is never navigating any of it alone.
What Is Treatment Like, The Details
Treatment at Merritt Recovery follows a predictable daily structure, and knowing what that structure looks like can ease a lot of the worry you or your loved one may be carrying right now.
The first day centers on intake and a full assessment. A clinician reviews medical history, substance use, mental health, and any medications, then uses that information to build a treatment plan written for that one person rather than a generic template.
A typical day includes:
- Morning check-in and a group session focused on skills like managing cravings or difficult emotions
- Individual therapy several times a week, scheduled around each person's plan
- Regular meals with time to rest between sessions
- Quieter afternoon or evening blocks for reflection, reading, or simply catching up on sleep
Family involvement matters, and we build it in through scheduled family sessions and updates when your loved one consents to sharing them. Progress is reviewed as time goes on, so the plan can shift when needs change. That flexibility is intentional. Recovery rarely moves in a straight line.
