Packing List for Treatment
Knowing what to bring can take some of the worry out of arrival day. Pack a week of comfortable clothing, your ID and insurance cards, and any current prescriptions in their original bottles. Leave valuables and anything containing alcohol at home. When you or your loved one arrives, our staff will handle the rest.
Packing List for Treatment, The Details
Arrival day goes smoother when a bag is packed the night before. Most people bring far too much, so keep it simple and practical. You or your loved one will want clothing that is comfortable and easy to layer, since rooms and common areas vary in temperature.
Here is what to pack:
- Comfortable, casual clothing for about a week, plus sleepwear and a light jacket
- A photo ID and your insurance card
- Any current prescriptions in their original labeled bottles
- A short list of medications, doses, and doctors
- Basic toiletries and a few personal comfort items, like family photos
Some things are better left at home. Please leave behind:
- Alcohol, non-prescribed drugs, or anything containing alcohol
- Valuables, large amounts of cash, or expensive jewelry
- Weapons or sharp objects
If you are unsure about a specific item, bring it and ask our staff during intake. We will store anything that cannot stay in the room and return it at discharge. You do not have to get every detail right. We will help sort the rest.
